The Home Missions Board (HMB) is the home missions arm of Mid America Yearly Meeting. HMB is responsible for outreach and church planting through home and cross cultural missions within or adjacent to the geographical area of EFC-MAYM. HMB is given the responsibility of promoting, analyzing and recommending locations for new churches and develop plans and methods for financing of new churches. This board provides care for new churches, extension churches and small churches needing assistance. Recruiting, training and supporting of pastoral leadership for new churches and existing churches is part of their given task. HMB is supporting a pastoral ministry development program being developed by EFC-MAYM. The program will train pastors in comprehensive areas of ministry as they are engaged in bi-vocational ministry and/or church planting. This program is anticipated to offer short intensive class sections on various aspects of pastoral ministry and theology. Currently HMB gives oversight, guidance and/or support to the following missions, church plants or extension churches: ¨ Chinese Hope Friends Church in Houston, TX - Stephen Xu and Jane Zhang, pastors ¨ Emporia Iglesia Amigos in Emporia, KS – Tomas and Lupe Martinez, pastors ¨ Dodge City Family of Friends Church in Dodge City, KS ¨ Salina, KS church plant - Lonnie & Linda Arrants, pastors ¨ Kickapoo Friends Center currently being incorporated into Mid America for leadership ¨ League City Friends - David Byrne, contact person Other ministries supported by HMB include: ¨ Discipleship & Leadership - Church Leadership Institute of Ministry ¨ Missions Leadership at Barclay College; Haviland, KS ¨ Coalition for Hispanic Ministries (CHM), South Houston, TX - David Byrne, Executive Director Other Cross Cultural churches within EFC-MAYM: ¨ Iglesia Amigos in Wichita, KS - Daniel Velazquez, pastor
